Eligible for participation are up-and-coming conductors – men and women – who are about to conclude their training or started their conducting career recently. The participation fee amounts to €100. Travel expenses and cost of stay are to be paid by the participants themselves.

Please use the attached Application Questionnaire for your application and fill in correctly.

Complete your application with an attached DVD showing you clearly visible as conductor of an orchestra (no rear view, please). The DVD should be of not more than 15 minutes duration, with the orchestra playing at least one excerpt from a piece of symphonic music featuring the classical/romantic repertoire.

With your signature appended to the Application Questionnaire, you are giving your consent for your data to be used for the purposes of the event and its publicity only and that your part contributed to the workshop may be photographed and recorded on DVD and put to the same use. Finally, your signature is to certify that the DVD documentation which may be handed over to you by the Hochschule für Musik on conclusion of the event will be used exclusively for your own, personal requirements. You will renounce from having your papers returned to you.

The preferred language at the workshop is German. Communication in English will be possible.

Having assessed the applications received, the evaluation committee will invite ten applicants, men and women, to perform in the first round. Out of them, six applicants will qualify to take part actively in the second round, and out of them three applicants left will perform in the final. The committee’s decision on the selection of the applicants is final with no recourse to law.
